Blog

Wow, we’ve been busy!

Last post, I said I was going to do better at keeping up with the blog and again I find myself months from that post and not finding the time to update! We have been working so hard through the holidays making over 1,200 items of encouragement for our 10 treatment centers and 3 floors of patients in the hospital. We sent stockings, sock snowmen, bears for Valentine’s Day and many Bags of HOPE and gift cards to those beginning their journey.

We are very excited to have added another Club Hope Chapter at Neshannok High School and are so happy to have new students learning the many life lessons Club Hope has to offer.

We cannot thank everyone enough for their continued support of our foundation and our mission to spread as much HOPE to those fighting the battle with cancer and their families as we possibly can. Together we can make a difference in the lives of so many warriors!

It’s Been Awhile!!

There has been so much going on lately with the foundation and it’s been very difficult to keep up with posting about every event. I promise, however, that we will do better to get all of the wonderful things our students, volunteers and Board of Directors are working hard on so that you can see the AMAZING amount of HOPE we are spreading and the support we continue to receive so that we can touch so many lives!

Just a few pictures of our events from the past few months. Even during all that is going on in our world right now, the support we have received at our events and for different activities we are involved with has truly touched our hearts. It takes a village, and we could never do all that we do without the generous support of so many in our community and the surrounding area! We are blessed beyond words and very, very thankful!

“Yard Signs for HOPE”

With this pandemic going on in our world, we have been sad that we are unable to send our usual items of encouragement in forms of cards, crafts, blankets, art projects from students, hats and scarves to the cancer treatment facilities in Lawrence, Beaver and Butler Counties. We came up with a way to help bring HOPE and encouragement to patients at local treatment facilities by doing a project called “Yard Signs for HOPE!” Patients are unable to bring loved ones into the facilities with them due to COVID-19, so we want them to be filled with HOPE as they enter the building by seeing our signs of encouragement or looking out the windows while receiving treatment! NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE!!

HUGE THANK YOU to all the kids who created these signs for us. More are on the way and by the end of the week we will be getting them made into yard signs to bring to 7 different treatment centers!! What a blessing!

Even during these hard times, our foundation continues to receive so much support and many donations and we cannot thank everyone enough! Together we can be someone’s HOPE for tomorrow!

God Bless and stay healthy and safe!!

Shady Side Hospital Trip

What an amazing night we had on Wednesday as we traveled to Shady Side Hospital to spread some “Hope for the Holidays!” 20 volunteers from our foundation and the Ellwood City High School Club Hope traveled by bus to deliver 100 sock snowmen crafts, 100 stockings full of goodies, treats for the amazing nurses and staff, and 25 bags full of crossword puzzles, word searches, and other activities for long term care patients. It was such an inspirational night full of smiles, tears, Christmas Carols and so much HOPE! We are blessed to be a part of this wonderful event each year.

Very HUGE THANK YOU to The Eric Ryan Corporation for covering the cost of the bus we took for our trip. Their continued support is appreciated so much!

WISHING EVERYONE A HOLIDAY SEASON FILLED WITH SO MUCH LOVE, HEALTH AND HAPPINESS!!

Hair for HOPE 2019

It was a beautiful night on Lawrence Ave. in Ellwood City at our 2nd Annual Hair for HOPE Night Event! We had 15 participants cut their hair for our cause and received many donations that will enable us to continue spreading so much HOPE to many in need! The night consisted of many exciting events including a Pie in the Face Contest held by the Eric Ryan Corporation, The Color Center, Venezie Sporting Goods and Izzo’s Embroidery, Burpee Challenge by The Body Shop, PLINKO with Venezie Sporting Goods, Fire Truck on display thanks to The Ellwood City Fire Department, pizza specials at Venezia’s Pizzaria, , specials and longer hours at Crystals Cakery, Konsignment Konnections  2nd Ward Sanctuary and Sweet Caroline’s and Chinese Auction and merchandise sale through our foundation!

Special THANK YOU to Ashely Smith from AM Studio for helping set up this event again this year and to all the hair donors and stylists or came to support our cause! It was another very fun night with so much support from our community and we are happy to be able to also donate the hair donations to help another non-profit organization, Children With Hairloss, which will use the hair we collected to give free wigs to children!

We look forward to seeing you all on August 24th at McDowell’s Inn in Koppel, PA for our 2nd Annual Guest Bartending Event! Last year we had an amazing turn out and we can’t wait for another night of fun behind the bar!
